I recently redid my kitchen. It’s still lacking some things that I’d like to have…like, oh say…white granite counter tops, white subway tile backslash, 24”x 24” floor tiles (or whitewash hardwood flooring)….but I haven’t yet robbed a bank so those items are still on hold. Our house is only nine years old so it’s hard for me to fathom redoing these three things at this time. Truly, there is nothing wrong with the original choices we made when we built our home. I just became obsessed with the French/Cottage look….Oh, what’s a girl to do? (Did I mention that the walls in my kitchen were BLACK?? It looked awesome. I promise!)
This is a sign that I hand painted to hang above our French Doors. I love barn wood signs! I debated on a few ideas of what to put on this sign and ended up settling on “Flower Market”.
I love my metal basket. I purchased this a few years ago from Ballard Designs. The metal “Entrance” sign was a flea market find. I’m trying desperate to find several more metal signs to make a collage on this wall. I tell ya, it hasn’t been an easy task!
I’m digging the new shelf I made to go above my kitchen window! The brackets are from Hobby Lobby and were black….but no problem…I used my Annie Sloan Chalk Paint to make them white. Then I lightly sanded them for a peek of black. The shelf itself was made from a piece of wood that I had left over from one of my signs. Again, I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. I used Graphite as the undercoat and a mix of Old White and Bright White for the topcoat. I’m still working on adding items above the cabinets…
I love my little French metal sign! I found this at a flea market in NYC. The blue enamel ware pitcher was an Ebay find. I’m trying to collect these types of pitchers. I just bought another on in Berlin, OH.
I hope you enjoyed the pics!
