Days 4-9: Positano, Amalfi, Paestum, Ravello, Italy
Paestum and Ravello, Italy:
Now that I am half way through with my posts on our trip to the Amalfi Coast I thought I’d get smart and include a map of the areas of Italy that we visited….hey, sometimes I’m a little slow…
So we decided to take a mini trip down to see Paestum. It was about an hour or so south of Positano. (Although my husband at one point thought we could take the scooter down there we opted for a Fiat rental! Smart….very smart!)
One our last trip to the Amalfi Coast we did not make it down there so it was our first visit there.
Paestum is known in Italy to have the oldest Greek Temples that still stand. They date back to the middle of the sixth century BC. To find out more I have included a link here.
We were able to get some great pictures that I hope you’ll enjoy viewing.
Ravello is a small town located up on a hill just south of Amalfi. It is very beautiful and has amazing views…but then again where is there NOT an amazing view on the Amalfi Coast?
Here are some pictures of the area…
So, I wanted to save this picture for last…When you are in Italy NEVER assume that the very narrow street that you are walking down is a “pedestrian only” street! Just because you’re thinking that there is absolutely NO WAY a car can fit on this street doesn’t mean it’s not possible! So, as I like to say…A chi vuole, non mancano modi. (Where there is a will, there is a way.)
Until the next time…
